Murray McLachlan's first solo recital in New York features transcriptions he has made in the past two years of works by Mozart (finale 19th concerto) Rachmaninov (slow movement 1st concerto) Ronald Stevenson ('A'e gowden Lyric) Poulenc (Miroirs brulants) Finzi (Three bagatelles for clarinet and piano) as well as works by Busoni, Scriabin, Liszt and Chopin. Heroes of the piano all, whether they be heroic through politics, coping with disability, prejudice, ill health or fashion, the recital is structured around their profound love and understanding of the piano.
