Scottish composer Ronald Stevenson is celebrating his 85th birthday in March 2013. His 'Passacaglia' has been championed by John Ogdon and admired by musicians as distinguished and diverse as Yehudi Menuhin, William Walton, Benjamin Britten and Shostakovich. Murray McLachlan's recording of this work was awarded 'Key recording' status in the Penguin Guide to CDs
