The Leeds International Piano Competition and a week of writing

September is always recovery month - in the immediate aftermath of the marathon that is Chetham's Piano Summer School- as well as being the start of a new academic year. Of course with a brand new 32 million pound state of the art school to move into, this September was always going to be exciting- leaving precious little time to write. Evenings this week have been largely spent catching up and writing new essays for 'International Piano'. In particular it was hugely enjoyable thinking through a long report on the remarkable Leeds International Piano competition- having watched something from each round over the past post Summer School weeks. Also signed off the usual two technique essays and reviews of lots of music.
